Great to see Alastair in the Queens birthday honours list. A true servant of rugby and all round good guy. I know some of my regular readers were at Uni with him and can vouch for that. Congratulations!

I've been refereeing for nine years and am now operating at national league level. I'm married and am lucky to have a wonderfully supportive wife who puts up with all my rugby without complaint (well, to me anyway!)

    Ali is quite embarrassed about it all. Wonderful servant to rugby and cricket as an elite player, supporter and journo.

    A lovely fella, who is bearing his illness with great bravery and pragmatism.

    Best scrum half playing at full back I ever played with ! And always happy memories of his cover drives at Fenners.
